Kerry Messersmith
Head Volleyball Coach, UAB Camp Director

All Camp Staff is led under the direction of UAB head coach Kerry
Messersmith.  Coach Messersmith enters her third season as head coach
of UAB and has already made a tremendous impact on the Blazer
Volleyball program.  In 2007, Messersmith led the Blazers to their
second straight Conference USA Tournament championship match
appearance en route to a runner-up finish to Tulsa in 2007 after the
team posted its first back-to-back 20-win seasons since 1992-93. The
Blazers finished with an overall record of 24-10 and 12-4 in Conference
USA.  In just her first season at the helm, Messersmith led the Blazers to
a 27-10 overall record and the programs’ first ever Conference USA
Championship.  In just two seasons at UAB, Messersmith has compiled
an overall record of 51-20 and 22-10 in C-USA to make her the
winningest coach all-time at UAB with her .718 winning percentage.

Coming to UAB from Georgia Southern, Messersmith was the Eagles' all-
time winningest coach in her tenure at the Statesboro, Ga. school,
turning around a program that was 15-45 in the two seasons prior to
her arrival in 2001.  Messersmith compiled an overall record of 116-52
at GSU and was 75-17 in Southern Conference matches. Under
Messersmith,  the Eagles won Southern Conference tournament
championships in 2001 and 2003, earning NCAA Tournament berths
and capturing the league's regular season title in both 2002 and 2003.

Her overall collegiate coaching record stands at 525-272 entering 2008.
